The subject matter that I draw comes from a yearning to understand American violence and human nature. I juxtapose images of safety and softness with images that are harsh and sharp. The large spaces you’ll find in my work act as a resting place to activate each object that is meticulously placed on each garment.
Memory palaces have been important to me, as my own carefully crafted interior palace is a place for me to find solace and comfort. Objects, buildings, cars, and people that no longer exist in my personal life are vibrant, full of life, and safe, within my palace.
